Medicine and cleaning materials are best stored away from children in lockable cupboards and cabinets;
Locks on windows and reduction of objects with sharp edges will help maintain safety;
Non-slip mats and grab rails are useful for both the elderly and children;
Twin wash basins and a large mirror are ideal for large families to enable many people to use the bathroom at the same time;
A screen or curtain around the water closet will provide privacy especially for sensitive growing children. A separate WC from the bathroom is a good idea if you have a really large family;
Decorations need not be too childish. Think years ahead and decorate with replaceable items. eg shower curtains in botanical prints will please everyone;
Have you ever been in a rush and had to wipe your hands with a damp towel? Consider a heated towel rail for the comfort of your whole family, especially during the cold, rainy weather.
Decorate with plenty of mirrors to increase the visual size of your family bathroom.
