What do you think about celebrating your wedding reception in a rustic barn on a farm? What about at a vintage train station built at the start of the last century with guest tables dressed in lace edged table linen where guests will be using heavy silver tableware? These are some of the trending wedding themes that will be popular in the coming year.
Others include destination weddings in exotic locations around the world and seasonal weddings featuring fresh flowers and Easter eggs in the spring, blue azure skies and warm almond coloured beaches during the summer, and orange, green and brown weddings decorated with pumpkins and witches brooms in the autumn.
Colour Trends
Colours used by designers during New York Fashion Week 2014 indicate that Aquamarine, an airy, ethereal blue with a cool dreamy feel that mixes well with other greens and blues in the same palette, Lucite Green, a soft serene green that offers a fresh sense of clarity, Strawberry Ice, a light nurturing coral tone were among the top ten colours for women.
Dusky blue, a cool, calm shade representative of the sky; Toasted Almond, an essential neutral, Wood Bine, a tropical green best described as natures neutral were among the top ten colours for men.
Marsala, with is red-brown roots reflecting the colour of a rich red wine is also one of the top ten colours for both men and women.
Flower Bouquets
Garden roses, peonies and pink king protea complemented by either seeded eucalyptus, ferns and herbs will not only grace flower girls heads, but will be carried down the aisle by many happy brides.
Freshly picked garden flowers used either at the reception, ceremony, by bridesmaids and the rest of the wedding party will fit into either a rustic or vintage theme perfectly.
Bridal Fashion
European bridal fashion designers have given a preview of gowns which will be on full, resplendent display during this year’s Barcelona Bridal Week.
Ana Torres’ collection will feature comfortable sophisticated gowns;
Carla Ruiz will be presenting the “True Love” collection that will be looking back to a past in search of the elegance and glamour of Hollywood.
Jesus Peiro’s collection will be putting on display sophisticated lines with a harmonious play of volumes and fabric.
If you are one of those brides that like coloured bridal gowns, look out for Sonia Pena’s collection which is full of light, colour and joy, inspired by her native Andalusia.
The Barcelona Bridal Fashion Show will run from 5 – 8 May 2015, whereas the Trade Fair will be open from 8 – 10 May 2015.
