A Riot of Colour At Your Country Wedding

Do you come from a maize growing area? Are you one of those couples that just cannot resist buying either a full or half a cob of roast maize from street vendors? You, my friends, both love maize.

Instead of feeding all the maize stalks to the cattle after the harvest, consider keeping aside several of them that you can use to decorate your wedding.

Ask your florist to add small bouquets of colourful bunches of flowers such as yellow tulips, pink carnations and red roses along each stalk.

Place the decorated maize stalks in brown or gold painted, traditional earthen pots filled with earth, to remind you of our beautiful, rich African heritage. Place them at the end of each pew in the church.
