Creative “Move to New” Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2022 Brings the Bridal Fashion Industry Back

Fira de Barcelona, with the support of the Ministry of Business and Employment of the Regional Government of Catalonia, has organized the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW). The five day event will start with “The Fashion Show” which will open on 20th April 2022 and will close on 23rd April 2022. The Trade Fair will be opened on 22nd April 2022 and will close on 24th April 2022. The venue shall be Halls 1 and 2 at the Plaza de Espana, Barcelona, Spain.
Eagerly awaited by brides, bride’s maids, entrepreneurs, wedding planners and the media the world over, the organizers have chosen “Move to New” as the show’s slogan.
“We’re delighted to bring the industry back together this year in Barcelona. “We’re back in earnest and eager to display the evolution of bridal fashion in a season packed with innovation and creativity,” declared BBFW director Estermaria Laruccia.
“Standards, customs, the market and consumers have changed in recent years. Our aim is to evolve with these changes and face up to the challenges of the future hand in hand with the industry, insisting on the need to innovate, promote sustainability throughout the product value chain and embrace diversity as an invaluable source of wealth.”
This image of “Move to New,” will be implemented during each stage of the shows preparation and throughout the evolution of the event itself, reflecting BBFW’s history and future as well as the values it advocates.
More than 30 Spanish and International fashion designers will be participating in the Fashion Show where they will be parading their 2023 Collections of bridal, wedding and evening dresses. Expect to be enthralled by the latest creations from Spanish fashion designers such as Pronovias, Rosa Clara, Jesus Peiro, Yolan Cris, Sopie et Voila, Marco & Maria and Ramon Sanjurjo. International fashion designers who will also be parading their collections to a global audience include Cymbeline from France, Peter Langner from Italy, Kate Corso from the Ukraine, Vestal from South Korea, Agnieska Swialty from Poland and Marylise & Pembo Styling from Belgium.
Young fashion designers will also be participating in the “New Talents” Parade. An initiative of the organizers of BBFW, the parades aim is to help the youth find a strong foundation in the bridal fashion and bridal accessories global sector. They will primarily be presenting gowns for brides, bride’s maids and other party dresses.
Designers who will be presenting their collections for the first time at the “New Talents” Parade are Andrea Lalaza and Mireia Balaguer from Italy. Andalusians will include Mancho Heredia from Malaga, Nicholas Montenegro from Seville, Higar Novian from Cordoba and Manila Novins from Granada.
Viktor & Rolf Mariage will be presenting their 2023 Spring/Summer Mariage Collection along with a selection of iconic haute couture pieces and gowns from their Mariage line. Their first global parade will be held at the Barcelona Bridal Night, the shows gala evening, which will be held on the eve of 20th April 2022 at the Xavier Convero Centre for Research and Artistic Activities. Attendance to the show is by invitation only.
The Dutch duo, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Shoeren founded their company in 1993. Their brand “Viktor & Rolf Mariage” has grown to become a renowned luxury fashion brand famous in the world of haute couture. At this debut fashion show, they will be presenting daring gowns made with a surrealist touch and provocative haute couture. The two designers’ unconventional approach to fashion and startling creations are expected to surprise all who have been invited to attend the gala evening show.
Access to the BBFW 2022 Fashion Show will be by invitation only. Viewers from around the world will be able to watch the show digitally. Save these dates 20th to 23rd April 2022 and make sure you watch the fashion show either on your mobile telephone or on your desktop computer. BBFW is available in the Google Play App Store and you are encouraged to download their app. Recorded versions of the fashion show will also be active on the BBFW Website until late July 2022.
More than 370 companies from 27 countries will be displaying their bridal products and services at this year’s Trade Fair. Exhibits will be presented by Spanish brands such as Jesús Peiró, The Pronovias Group, Rosa Clará, Yolan Cris, Sophie et Voilà, Marco & Maria, Sonia Peña, Carla Ruiz, Ramón Sanjurjo, Inuñez, Novia d’Art, Tot-hom and many more.
The renowned Lebanese haute couture brand Zuhair Murad will be participating for the first time. His stand is expected to be one of the favorites among the international brands. Others such as Demetrios, Justin Alexander, Enzoani, Randy Fenoli, Allure and Amsale from the United States are expected to have many visitors as well.
Italian designers such as Nicole Milano, Peter Langner, Andrea Sedici, Elisabetta Polignano, Poesie Sposa, Simone Marulli, Valentini, Amelia Casablanca, Bellantuono and Maison Signore, Milla Nova from Ukraine, Vestal from South Korea, Madi Lane from Austrialia, Julie Vino from Israel, Cymbeline from France, Daalarna from Hungary, Otilia Brailoiu from Romania and many others are expected to bring something new to this year’s exhibition and to young brides planning to wed in the near future.
Entrepreneurs, retailers and distributors are expected to attend the Trade Fair from Europe, the United States of America, from South America, Asia and Arabia.
