One of the wedding traditions of the Masai tribe that live in Kenya and Tanzania in East Africa is spitting on the daughters head and breasts before she leaves her fathers house for her new husbands house.
It all begins when the elders of the tribe searching for a groom for single unmarried girls or women. Without even asking her, they arrange the marriage ceremony. Not even her mother knows what is going on. Once the dowry is paid to the bride's family, a bull is gifted to the mother. This signifies the departure of one of her girl children to a new home.
