As a bride, looking your best on your wedding day is a key priority. You may have ordered your wedding gown and other fashion accessories to suit your body type. Now it is time to take care of the inside and outer of your body so as to look and feel your best.
So, what is your skin type? If you have an oily facial skin you will note that it produces excess sebum. Your facial skin thus appears shiny and it feels greasy. Oily skin is characterized with less wrinkles. It also has enlarged pores and may have acne blemishes, blackheads and whiteheads. We at Dorothy Humphrey's Weddings advice brides and their female bridal party to start taking care of their facial skin at least four months before the wedding day.
Every beauty and skin care routine starts with taking care of the inside of your body by eating well. Eating well means balancing your diet with reasonable amounts of starch, protein, fruits and vegetables. It also includes drinking at least eight glasses of water per day. Water cleanses your system and gets rid of toxins which are harmful to your body. For a bride hoping to look her best on her wedding day, drinking plenty of water will give you a clear complexion free of unsightly pimples.
Start exercising every day for at least one to two hours. Do you like running? Aerobics? Walking? Cycling or swimming? These sporting activities will ensure that your blood circulates all over your body, taking oxygen and nutrients to all your organs and limbs.
During the four months before your wedding day, start to cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin using natural plant products that will bring out all your natural beauty.
For oily skin, look for products made with tea tree essential oil, lavender essential oil, lemon and rosemary essential oils. You can also search for products that are made with a comination of all these essential oils in trace amounts for best results.
Avoid using products that contain paraffin, lanolin and beeswax which typically block skin pores. Instead, opt for products made with vegetable oils such as olive, almond and jojoba oils which are easily absorbed by the skin.
Your daily routine can start with cleansing your face in the morning. Oily skin layers have open and large pores. Wash your face with soap and water. Rinse off well with warm water and pat your face dry. Follow washing with moisturising. This is essentially adding water into your face. Apply minimal facial make up for work to look professional and smart. Have a large breakfast to enable you to work well throughout the day. Include cereal, protein, starch and a beverage. After breakfast, drink two glasses of water.
During the day, eat a well balanced meal. For lunch you can opt for a mixed vegetable salad served with roast chicken which is delicioius. For a beverage, have a glass of lemonade. Avoid eating too much oily food and opt for stews instead of fried food. Drink at least four glasses of water.
In the evening, walk home from the bus stop if it is not so far, to pump blood all over your body. Cleanse your skin by taking off all traces of oil and make up. You can use a tea tree cleanser that you wipe all over your face with a cotton bud. Follow by washing with soap and water. Finish off by toning, which helps to refine rough patches and to tighten open pores.
Have a light nutritious meal that includes a beef stew, rice and steamed cabbage and carrots. Eat a hearty amount of mixed fruit salad. Drink the last two glasses of water. You can be imaginative and make a daily menu of your favorite food.
Complete your daily beauty and skin care routine by sleeping for at least eight hours.
