Sweet Memories of Your Wedding Day

Wedding photographs record the entire day from the morning into the evening. For some couples, these wedding photographs will be the only memory they will have of the day they became husband and wife.

These photographs will be treasured memories shared with close friends, parents and many lines of grand children. Getting the shots and the pictures right is thus important to the engaged couple.

Finding a good, professional photographer is the first thing you need to consider. Ask around from your friends who have already had a wedding. Ask also to see the particular shots. Visit the photographers studios together as a couple and see what work they have done in the past. If the photo agency is a large one, ask to see the individual shots of each photographer. Once you have chosen the preferred photographer, decide on the shots you must have.

How many photographic prints do you want of your wedding? Do you want matt or glossy prints? Will the final portraits be extra large or just large? What about the size of all the other shots? These are the finer details you will decide on before settling on a package or daily rate.

Photographers will charge in various ways. The wedding package usually includes a particular number of shots taken at the church ceremony and at the reception party. These are presented to the married couple a few days / weeks later in an album. This may be one of the most cost-effective ways of paying for your photographs.

The photographer may charge the engaged couple a flat hourly rate. If you choose this way, decide on the time the photographer will arrive and when he/she shall leave. Also, decide on the number of prints you will get of your entire wedding.

The third way in which photographers charge for their services is based on the number of photos taken of the ceremony and the wedding reception party.

Once the decision on the cost of photos is finalized, ensure all your requirements are put down in writing in a binding agreement. Pay whatever downpayments are requested. It is good to note that photographers usually retain the copyright of wedding photographs including negatives. Before signing any agreements find out if you can get the negatives some months after the wedding.

Are you a couple looking to save money on photographs? You may decide to have the professional photographer take all the formal photographs at the church ceremony. From arrival of the groom, bride, family and wedding party to the exit from the church. You may include all the formal photographs usually taken just outside the church with the officiant, wedding party, parents and the closest of friends.

To save on the other reception photographs, choose a friend who you know to be a good photographer. Have him/her walk throughout the reception taking your must have shots. Secondly, ask the guests to take informal digital photographs with their android telephones. These can be sent to your email and later up loaded onto your wedding website which you already share with your loved ones. Choose the best photos from here and print out to include in your wedding photo album.

After your return from your honeymoon, invite your wedding party and close friends and family to a Sunday lunch and share with them a slide show of the entire day including new shots taken while on holiday. Also, open your own wedding planning website and upload your photographs after the wedding. Wedsites is a good place to start.
